John Mack: The Death Conspiracy

I met John Mack, twice. We (myself and a friend) met John at Cardiff train station and I rode shotgun as we took him to his hotel. He was speaking at a UFO conference in Cardiff in the early 1990s. The second meeting was at the aforementioned conference, where we discussed ontological shock and its implications. John was a patient, gentle and sweet man who had a lot of time for anyone. His death was tragic and a complete shock. What his death wasn’t, was some sort of conspiracy.

The conspiracy, initially propagated by Shirley Maclaine and Dan Ackroyd, is that on the day of John’s death, a lot of other John Macks were also killed in various “accidents”. The underlying theory is that someone was killing anyone named John Mack to ensure the alien abductee researcher John Mack was killed. It is a really simple theory to debunk.

Firstly, the John Mack we’re discussing was well known and no stranger to speaking at conferences, on TV and I believe his picture was on the dust jacket of his first book. It’s not like he was some hermit who no-one had seen. So if you were looking to murder this John Mack, you would be able to discover what he looked like for effective targetting.

Secondly, the UK documents every death and by some simple googling you can discover that there was only one John Mack killed on that specific day. There was no rash of John Macks being killed. Still never let the facts get in the way of a good story, especially if you have a platform to propagate such BS.

The John E Mack Insititue is still promoting John’s theories, and they can be found here.
